Recently the main source of my listening pleasure, my iPod, was stolen. While venting about it to my friend, Tracy, we started talking about how listening to records and CD’s allows us to enjoy entire albums. We both agreed not only is it just too easy to set our gigabytes on shuffle, but it’s somewhat mind numbing. Albums seem more fulfilling.
So, here are some albums recommended from my “music snob” friends, and therefore, myself:
Tracy Shao (music video producer)
Gomez – A New Tide
Matt and Kim – Grand
Laura Marling – Alas I Cannot Swim
Various Artists – War Child Compilation
Gavin Castleton (musician)
St Vincent – Marry Me
Maps and Aliases – You and Me and the Mountain
Lex Land – Orange Days on Lemon St.
Broadcast 2000 – Building Blocks
Chris Fudurich (music producer)
